Comfortable buoyancy pillow designed to support the client's head while floating during aquatic bodywork sessions.
The Floating Support Pillow is made of soft neoprene, providing excellent comfort and a pleasant feel against the skin. Its ergonomic shape is designed to adapt naturally to the client's body and support a comfortable head position while floating on the water. The pillow is filled with non-toxic, high-density expanded polystyrene (EPS) beads that help maintain its shape over time. The pillow is equipped with two detachable flotation supports that are positioned under the arms to prevent the pillow from slipping away from beneath the head. The floats can be easily attached or removed using side-release buckles concealed within neoprene sleeves. Their position can be quickly adjusted by shortening or lengthening the elastic straps.
Intended Use:
The buoyancy pillow is an accessory intended for selected situations during aquatic bodywork sessions, including WATSU®, Oceanic Bodywork® Aqua (OBA), and other relaxation or rehabilitation techniques performed in water. It may also be used by individuals for personal relaxation while floating on the water. Its purpose is to provide gentle additional buoyancy around the head or neck, enhance the feeling of safety, and facilitate a client's adaptation to the aquatic environment.
The buoyancy pillow may be particularly useful:
Important Notice: The buoyancy pillow does not replace the therapist's manual support of the head.
During techniques involving rotations, spirals, or significant movement of the cervical spine, the therapist must continue to provide active support of the head while maintaining the natural alignment of the neck. Using an inappropriate pillow size or incorrect application may place unnecessary stress on the cervical spine. The therapist is always responsible for selecting the appropriate support, continuously monitoring the client's position, and ensuring the safe execution of the entire session.
These buoyancy pillows are primarily intended for:
When used correctly, the pillow can significantly increase the client's comfort. However, it can never replace the knowledge, sensitivity, and professional skills of an experienced aquatic therapist.
Care Instructions
With regular use (approximately 2–4 times per week), the expected service life of the pillow is approximately three years. However, based on our experience, many pillows remain fully functional for up to six years. The care requirements are similar to those for swimwear. After each use, rinse the pillow thoroughly with clean water and allow it to dry completely. Failure to do so may accelerate material deterioration caused by chlorine and other chemicals commonly found in pool water. Over time, exposure to outdoor conditions and ultraviolet (UV) radiation may also cause fading of the fabric.
Do not: dry clean, bleach, iron.
